The BBC Micro is a series of microcomputers and associated peripherals designed and built by Acorn Computers in the 1980s for the BBC Computer Literacy Project. It was designed to be a accessible and affordable computer for use in schools, and it became very popular throughout the UK educational system.

The BBC Micro was first released in December 1981 and quickly gained a reputation as a powerful and versatile machine with excellent graphics and sound capabilities. It was used not only in schools, but also in homes and businesses, and it paved the way for the development of a number of other influential computers in the 1980s and beyond.

The BBC Micro had a number of different models, including the Model A, Model B, and Master Series, each with its own set of features and capabilities. It used a variant of the MOS Technology 6502 processor and came with either 16 or 32 kilobytes of RAM, which could be expanded up to 128 kilobytes.

The BBC Micro played an important role in the evolution of home and educational computing in the UK, and it remains a beloved and iconic piece of technology among many people to this day.
